I guess most of you know now that Leigh and I are holding a large exhibition at Monarto Zoo in South Australia in October. Monarto Zoo is an open plains zoo specialising in African wildlife. They have massive areas of land dedicated to lions, cheetahs, a huge painted dog pride, rhinos, giraffes, zebras and others. Well, now they are adding another string to their bow. On October the 5th, the same day our exhibition opens, they are adding a chimp enclosure reputed to be the largest in Australia. Dr Jane Goodall, the famous chimp researcher and educator, is opening the Monarto chimp display so we hope she can swing by our exhibition too.

We are raising funds for Monarto and also the Tacugama Chimp Sanctuary. This is in Sierra leone, West Africa, where a couple gave up everything to dedicate their lives to helping orphaned chimps, victims of the bushmeat and pet trades, and of course loss of habitat which is the scourge of wildlife everywhere.

The exhibition will be 12 to 15 works each by Leigh and myself and also a few pieces done by the Monarto chimps too. Here's hoping we can make a difference. I'm itching to meet Leigh and see his pieces in the flesh (or dust  ) and also top of my wish list is to meet Jane and some of the chimpanzees.

My pieces so far.

I just love that one of Zoyas! I think it's the warmth of the skin tones you've used that is getting me. The excitement is starting to build now...

I'd like to take the time to let everyone know that Patrick and I are moving closer to this exhibition and have just received the wonderful news that Jane Goodall WILL open our show!

I'm pumped!
